Georg Friedrich Handel (23 February 1685 – 14 April 1759) was a renowned German-British Baroque composer known for his operas, oratorios, and concertos. He was born in Germany in the same year as fellow composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Domenico Scarlatti. Handel received extensive musical training in Italy before ultimately making London his home and becoming a British citizen. Some of his most famous works include Messiah, Water Music, and Music for the Royal Fireworks. Handel's compositions continue to be celebrated and performed by musicians worldwide.
