Motoaki Tanigo is a graduate of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Keio University. After his studies, he began his career in game development at Sanrio Co. He later became the CEO of 30min. Inc., a local news service that he helped develop and eventually sold. In 2016, Tanigo shifted his focus to augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technology and founded a company dedicated to exploring these emerging technologies.
