Biography

Osamu Dezaki was a renowned Japanese anime director born in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. He initially pursued manga artistry while still in high school and later joined Mushi Production in 1963, founded by the anime and manga pioneer, Osamu Tezuka. He debuted as a director in 1970 with his work on Ashita no Joe. His recognizable visual style showcased his unique use of split-screen, stark lighting, dutch angle, and pastel freeze frames, referred to as "postcard memories."
