Hiromu Arakawa, born in Tokachi, Hokkaido, Japan, is a renowned manga artist and creator of popular anime series. Starting her career with a one-shot titled STRAY DOG, she rose to fame with her creation of Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, for which she has received prestigious awards such as the Shogakukan Manga Award, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award (New Artist Prize), and the Shinsei Prize.
