Mika Nakashima, born in Hioki, Japan, always had a dream of becoming a singer from a young age. Choosing not to attend high school, she pursued her musical career instead. In 2001, she gained recognition when she was chosen as the heroine of the fall season drama "Kizudarake no Love Song" on Fuji TV after sending a demo-tape to a record company. Her debut came in November of the same year, with the release of the song "STARS", which was also the theme song of the drama.
