Sayuri, born in Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, discovered her passion for composing music during her second year of middle school. In 2012, she achieved great success by winning the Grand Prix at the finals of the 5th Music Revolution competition, sponsored by Yamaha Music.
In March 2015, Sayuri held her first solo live performance at Tsutaya O-nest in Tokyo. The following year, at only 19 years old, she made her major debut by providing the ending theme song for the anime series Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace.
