Hirohiko Araki was born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. He stands at a height of 169.5 cm and weighs 61 kg, with a blood type of B. Araki left Miyagi University of Education before graduating and went on to receive the 20th Tezuka Award for his debut work, Busou Poker, under the name Toshiyuki Araki. In 2009, Araki was chosen as one of five artists by the Musée du Louvre to create original works set in the famous museum.
