Hiroshi Ogawa was a talented animator, character designer, and animation director in the Japanese anime industry. He graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin College and began his career at Tsuchida Production in 1976. In 1983, Ogawa founded his own animation studio, Studio 501, after leaving the struggling studio where he started. Throughout his career, Ogawa worked for Disney Japan from 1987 to 1988 and later became a freelance animator in 1989.
